How to Manage Multiple Stores in One Opencals Account

Opencals lets one login run more than one store. That's the setup agencies use to manage a portfolio of client stores, and multi-location brands use to keep each location's bookings, products, and staff separate while signing in once. This guide covers creating a store, switching between the stores you belong to, and how one person can hold a different role in each store.

One Opencals login can belong to many stores. Create a store from the store switcher in the sidebar, switch between stores in a click, and give each person a role per store — the same account can be a store-owner in one store and a manager or staff-member in another. Each store keeps its own bookings, products, staff, plan, and domain.

Before you start

You need an Opencals account. Anyone who can already sign in can create a store; the account that creates a store becomes its store-owner. To add teammates to a store with their own roles, see How to add team members and set permissions.

Step 1 — Create a new store

Open the store switcher at the top of the sidebar — it shows your current store's logo, name, and domain. Click it, then choose Create new store.

Store switcher — open the store menu in the sidebar to switch between the stores you belong to.

The switcher lists every store you belong to. Your current store is marked with a check, each row shows your role in that store, and stores in development mode carry a DEV badge.

The create dialog asks for a few details:

1

Store type

Production is for a live business — you set a custom domain and connect Stripe. Development is for testing only: the URL is auto-generated, Stripe runs in test mode, and the storefront stays password-protected. Store type cannot be changed later.

2

Store name

The name shown across the dashboard and in the store switcher.

3

Country and currency

The store's default country and the currency it prices and charges in.

4

Domain

Your Opencals subdomain for the booking storefront, e.g. clipandco.opencals.com. Development stores get an auto-generated URL instead.

5

Populate with sample data

Optional. Pre-fills the new store with demo products, staff, and locations so you can explore right away.

Click Create store. Opencals sets it up and switches you straight into it.

Store type is permanent

Choose Production or Development carefully — the store type cannot be changed after the store is created. Use Development stores for testing and demos; use Production for anything real.

Step 2 — Switch between your stores

Once you belong to more than one store, the store switcher becomes a full store list. Open it and pick any store to jump into it. Opencals reloads into that store, and everything you see afterwards — bookings, products, staff, schedules, orders, settings — belongs to that store alone. Nothing is shared between stores except your login.

The switcher shows each store's name, your role in it, and a DEV badge for development stores, so you always know which store you're about to open and what you can do there.

Your role travels with the store, not with you

Because each store carries its own role, the switcher is also a quick reminder of what you can do in each one. You might be a store-owner in your own store and a manager in a client's — the switcher shows both.

Step 3 — Give one person a role per store

Every membership ties one user to one store with one role. Opencals has three store roles:

  • store-owner — full control of the store, including billing and team.
  • manager — day-to-day management of bookings, products, and staff.
  • staff-member — the most limited role, for people who deliver the services.

Crucially, roles are set per store. The same login can be a store-owner in one store, a manager in a second, and a staff-member in a third. That's what makes the agency and multi-location setup work: one person signs in once and gets exactly the right level of access in each store. To invite people and choose their role, follow the team members and permissions guide.

Step 4 — Review every store from the admin list

Open Stores to see the full list of stores on the account. You can filter by name or domain, and by platform.

Store detail — Overview, Plans, Users, and Settings for a single store, with copyable IDs and domains.

The detail page has four tabs — Overview, Plans, Users, and Settings. Overview holds the store's name, domain, platform, and mode, plus copyable Store ID and External ID values. The Plans tab shows the active plan and its billing interval. The Users tab lists everyone in the store with their role and when they joined — the clearest place to confirm who has access to what.
